3.1.10. Removal and installation of the working cylinder

NOTE
In case of removal of the working cylinder with the connected pipeline from the transmission do not press a pedal of coupling. Otherwise the piston will be forced out from the working cylinder of coupling and will fail.
Hit of brake fluid on the transmission is not allowed. If necessary clear the transmission case.

Weaken fastenings (in the presence) 2 and 3 and remove a noise isolation In behind (fig. 3.1).

Dismantle the heat-shielding screen of a power shaft (fig. 3.2) at the left.

Turn off a tunnel support (in the presence) of 1 (fig. 3.32).
Weaken the tightening plug 2 and disconnect a forward part of a final collector with the catalyst 3.

NOTE
Do not bend the Rasstykovochny element of an exhaust pipe more than on 10 ° – damage is possible.

Unscrew the screw and take the working cylinder in the direction of back (fig. 3.33).

NOTE
After dismantle of the working cylinder do not press a coupling pedal.

Clamp the pipeline a collar.
And for its removal open a safety bracket by means of the screw-driver and extend against the stop (fig. 3.12).

Disconnect the pipeline from the working cylinder.

Installation
Installation is made in the return sequence.

NOTE
For replacement of the fixing screw, pull the working cylinder so that it was possible to insert a fixing bolt easily.

Before installation of the working cylinder in the case of the transmission it is necessary to apply on area A

cuffs lithium lubricant (fig. 3.34).
Grease a contact surface of a pusher on the lever of switching off of coupling with a thin layer of copper lubricant.

Fix the holder 3 pipelines on the working cylinder 4 (fig. 3.35).
Enter the working cylinder 1, avoiding strong deviations from the pusher area of work (arrow A), in a reception opening of the KP case and establish in contact deepening (arrow B) of the lever of switching off of coupling of 3 (fig. 3.36).

NOTE
At installation of the working cylinder with a distortion 1 danger that the pusher (arrow A) will pass by the lever of switching off of coupling 3 is big.

Fix the working cylinder by the new screw 2.
Enter a safety bracket And the working cylinder against the stop (fig. 3.12).
Press the pipeline B in connection on the working cylinder of coupling before click when fixing a safety bracket (fig. 3.12).
For check of connection pull for the pipeline.

ATTENTION
Carefully press a coupling pedal at installation of the working cylinder.
If pressing a pedal of coupling requires unusually big effort – take away a leg from a coupling pedal.
Perhaps, the pusher of the working cylinder passed by the coupling switching off lever.
At effort to pedals about 300 N · the m will occur destruction of the working cylinder.

The normal effort to pedals makes about 115 N.

The car with the V6 TDI engine
Establish a forward part of a final collector and fix system of release of OG without tension.
In the presence establish a tunnel support.
Install the heat-shielding screen of a power shaft at the left.

All cars
In case of separation of the pipeline on the working cylinder it is necessary to execute pumping of system of coupling after installation of this cylinder.

Inhaling moments
The working cylinder of coupling on a box передач*: 23 N · m.
The heat-shielding screen of fastening of the drive to the transmission: 23 N · m.
* The screw is subject to replacement.
