4.3.11. Removal and installation of a stretcher

Removal
With the help traverses fix all engine.
Remove a decorative overlay of a wheel, on light-alloy wheels take off a cap (a removable hook from the onboard tool).
Remove wheels.
Fix a brake disk by a wheel bolt.
Remove a noise-insulating board.

Only for cabriolets
Remove a forward diagonal bar.

Before unscrewing of a stretcher check by means of the special tool 3393 whether openings of 1 and 2 (fig. 4.85) coincide.
If it not so, then after installation of a stretcher it is necessary to check the angles of installation of wheels (RUUK).

If necessary turn off nuts on the KP support (fig. 4.86).
On cars with the proofreader of a tilt angle of headlights remove connecting draft of the sensor of level of the car from the bearing lever.

Unscrew the screw 5 of the ABS RPM meter (fig. 4.56).
Remove a wire of the sensor of frequency of rotation of the ABS system from fastening on a rotary fist.

Cars with a brake support of NR-2

Unscrew the screw with a hexagon 2 and remove fastening of the brake highway (fig. 4.49).
Unscrew bolts of 1 brake support and remove a support.
Again establish fastening of the brake highway. Insert and tighten the screw with a hexagon 2.
Fix a brake support on a design so that it the weight did not bend / did not damage the brake highway.

Continuation of assembly operations for all cars
Remove a brake support and to strengthen it on a body so that it the weight did not press on a brake hose / the brake highway and did not damage him / her.
Not to damage hinges of the top levers of a suspension bracket, it is necessary, for example, by means of a rack for the engine and the transmission, provide a support for a rotary fist against reverse motion of shock-absorbers.
Untwist screw connection of the taxiing-up lever / stretcher.
If necessary remove a tunnel cross-piece the party.
Put a rack for the engine and the transmission with a substrate from a firm tree under a stretcher and to press slightly.
Unscrew screws with a six-sided head 1.

Unscrew screws with a six-sided head 2 and lower a stretcher behind (fig. 4.87).
Take screws with a six-sided head of the taxiing-up lever.
Take the taxiing-up lever from a stretcher.

NOTE
Not to bend hinges of the bearing and taxiing up lever, they need to be zarkepit on a design a wire or something similar.

Disconnect the highway from the console (fig. 4.88).
Unscrew a bolt 3.

Weaken bolts with a six-sided head 2 so that became possible take a stretcher (fig. 4.89).

Installation
Insert a stretcher and twist screws with a six-sided head of 5 and 6 (fig. 4.87).
Install the screw with a six-sided head of a depreciation rack on the bearing lever.
Enter the bearing and directing levers into a stretcher.
Before an inhaling of threaded connections the stretcher needs to be recorded on a body by means of the special tool 3393.

The opening 1, opening 2 stretchers and an opening of the 3rd aluminum console have to coincide on both parties (fig. 4.90).

NOTE
This fixing replaces the subsequent RUUK only in a case:
– if only one stretcher acted and established;
– if openings 1 and 2 coincided prior to repair.

Install screws with hexagons of 1 and 2 (fig. 4.87).
Execute anticorrosive protection of openings in a body for fastening of the special tool 3393.
Put the clamp of 1 (fig. 4.89).
If necessary put the clamps of the KP support (fig. 4.87).
Record a cable on a body (fig. 4.88).

Inhaling order
Tighten screws with hexagons of 2 and 5 (fig. 4.87).

NOTE
The carving in a body can be repaired a carving insert from a wire according to DIN 8140 (Heli–Coil). The carving insert has to have the same length, as a carving in a body.
Rubber-metal hinges (saylent-blocks) have the limited working range of twisting. Therefore tighten threaded connections of levers only on the empty car

Tighten bolts with a six-sided head 1
Tighten KP support nuts.
Tighten the screw 2
Tighten nuts of 1 support of the engine (fig. 4.89).
Tighten screws with a hexagon 3 bearing the lever (fig. 4.56).
Tighten screws with a hexagon of the directing lever
Fasten connection to the stabilizer 4 of a depreciation rack to the bearing suspension bracket lever.
If necessary establish a tunnel cross-piece the party.
Twirl the screw 5 of the ABS RPM meter (fig. 4.56).
Fasten a brake support.
Establish and tighten wheels

Only for cabriolets
Establish a forward diagonal bar.

NOTE
If before removal and installation of a stretcher (before an inhaling of screws) it was carried out fixing to a body by means of a control mandrel 3393, check of angles of installation of wheels it is possible you do not see off.
If fixing was not carried out, check of angles of installation of wheels is obligatory.
Adjust the angles of installation of wheels.
Check and adjustment of a running gear are carried out at the stand for RUUK recommended to VW/Audi.
